Southern Craft BBQ opens in Norton

NORTON, Va. (WJHL) — Southern Craft BBQ has opened its latest location in the Tri-Cities region, this time in Norton, Virginia.

The newest Southern Craft restaurant can be found at 815 Park Ave SW at the Norton Expo Center.

The barbecue restaurant also features its own Great Oak Brewery and outdoor seating. A special event venue, The Overlook, is located upstairs.

“We have beautiful outside seating, we have fire pits out there,” said Keith Dancy, the director of brewing operations for Great Oak Brewing. “I’m really excited about the fall, people sitting outside, a beautiful view of High Knob Flag Rock behind us. It’s a really nice location.”

Dancy told News Channel 11 the natural resources and beauty of Norton played a big part in the decision to bring Southern Craft and Great Oak Brewing to Norton.

“One of the main reasons we came here again is just the support from the local community, just the city itself and all the local residents,” Dancy said. “They are really excited about having a new place to go with a full bar, craft beer, full liquor bar, and of course the good Southern Craft barbecue that everybody knows.”
