    Local food bank to host ‘Food Drive Night at the Fair’ on Tuesday

    GRAY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee and the Appalachian Fair will partner on Tuesday for “Food Drive Night at the Fair.”

    Those who bring five cans or boxes to donate to the food bank will receive a coupon booklet with two free midway rides.

    All non-perishable food items can be donated during the event, including:

    • Peanut butter
    • Cereal
    • Canned meats
    • Canned soups
    • Boxed meals
    • Canned fruits and vegetables
    • Macaroni and cheese
    • Pasta
    • Rice
    • Dried beans
    • Pasta sauce (in a can)
    • No glass containers

    “Food Drive Night at the Fair” will be on Tuesday at the Appalachian Fair . Food bank volunteers will be available to take donations at gates 1, 2, and 5.

    The Appalachian Fair will begin on Monday.

    The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee serves over 46,000 people in Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Washington, and Unicoi Counties.
