    Hawkins County child death suspects arrested in Greeneville

    GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man and woman wanted in connection with the murder of a four-year-old in Hawkins County were arrested after a traffic stop in Greeneville on Thursday.

    The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reports Cody Williams and Miranda Crowe were wanted on various warrants after an investigation into the death of a four-year-old.

    According to booking information provided by the HCSO, Williams was charged with the following:

    • First-degree murder (two counts)
    • Aggravated child abuse (two counts)
    • Aggravated child neglect
    • Tampering with evidence

    Crowe was charged with the following:

    • Aggravated assault
    • Aggravated child neglect
    • Failure to report child abuse

    The Greeneville Police Department (GPD) reported a white Ford Expedition, driven by Williams, was spotted on West Andrew Johnson Highway and Lonesome Pine Trail just before 10 p.m.

    A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and Williams and Miranda Crowe were both arrested, the report stated.

    As of Friday, Williams and Crowe are being held on a $1 million bond and a $100,000 bond, respectively. Both are set to appear in court on Aug. 29.
