Bristol, Tennessee’s new Fire Station 2 ready for service

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — A new fire station will officially open Tuesday in Bristol, Tennessee.

The new Station 2 is located along King College Road.

According to the fire department, the new facility has more room, privacy, and safety features.

It also features a community safety room located in front of the station where someone can lock themselves in with access to a bathroom and direct line to dispatch.

“A person who is trying to get away from something, whether it be domestic violence or whatever it may be, could come to the fire station, run in the front door, lock the door behind them and have immediate access to our dispatch center or the firefighters that would be on duty here, if they’re in the station and not out on calls,” Chief Mike Carrier said.

A house uncoupling ceremony, marking the station’s official opening, will be held Tuesday.
