Off Leash Social buys former Wag N Suds space, plans to open pet boutique

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A dog bar in Johnson City is expanding and plans to open its own boutique at the former home of a pet grooming business .

Off Leash Social announced in an email to its customers that the business will open the Off Leash Boutique in a matter of weeks. The boutique will be located at the former Wag N Suds location on West Market Street.

Wag N Suds closed on June 30 . The previous owner told News Channel 11 the economy presented too many challenges that ultimately led to the closure.

Off Leash’s owners wrote that they had the opportunity to purchase the spot and planned to continue offering grooming services at the boutique.

“Grooming will be done in individual spa-like private grooming suites in a calm, cageless environment,” the email states. “Our focus [is] on individualized attention and 1-on-1, straight-through grooming sessions to ensure each dog receives personalized care and a stress-free experience.”

The boutique will also offer a self-wash option for dogs of various sizes. The email appointments for self-washing are not necessary, and monthly and annual members at Off Leash Social can use the self-wash option for free at any time.

The business also plans to offer “exclusive day care” services with strict criteria for a small number of dogs in a less chaotic atmosphere. Owners can check in on their dogs at the day care via camera.

Off Leash plans to carry retail items that are not found in big box stores such as natural treats and high-quality pet supplies, including some made locally.
