Northeast State Community College unveils custom license plate

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — Northeast State Community College unveiled its first-ever custom Tennessee license plate Tuesday.

The plate features Northeast State’s arch logo with blues and greens representing nature in Northeast Tennessee. “We’re here to get you there,” is also written on the plate.

“A portion of every plate registration fee — both new and renewals — directly benefits
scholarships for students at Northeast State,” Assistant Director of Advancement Joshua Johnson said in a news release. “Renewing your Northeast State plate every year means we can provide more scholarship opportunities for our students.”

Pre-orders for the plate are $35 and can be completed online here . Once 1,000 orders are placed, the state will authorize production.

According to the college, this license plate makes Northeast State the first community college in Tennessee with a custom plate that reflects the institution and surrounding region.
