Voting open for Top Adventure Towns contest; three regional places nominated

TRI-CITIES (WJHL) – The Blue Ridge Outdoors team nominated three regional places for its Top Adventure Towns contest. There are four categories: tiny, small, medium and large towns.

According to the competition’s official website , “They are mountain biking meccas, whitewater oases, climbing paradises, and hiking dream destinations. Some are long established while others are quickly growing on the radars of our readers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere.”

Places in Tennessee and Virginia entered the second round of the competition on Monday and are as follows:

• Damascus, Va . – Top Tiny Adventure Town
• Abingdon, Va. – Top Small Adventure Town
• Bristol, Va./Tenn. – Top Medium Adventure Town

Those interested in voting for their favorite town can do so here . Voting is open until Sunday.

The next round of the Blue Ridge Outdoors Top Adventure Towns contest will begin on Aug. 26. and close on Aug. 31.

Blue Ridge Outdoors will feature the four winners online and in its November magazine .
