GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — On Saturday, the Exchange Club of Greeneville hosted its second annual Barbecue, Bluegrass, and Brews (BBB) fundraiser. The non-profit club supports various community projects, scholarships, charities working to stop child abuse and its Field Day.

BBB featured live music from Greeneville’s Stemwinder and Johnson City’s Pythagoras, dinner and coffee from local food trucks, including Kickin’ Chicken Shack, Big Bean Coffee, Tilly’s BBQ and Top Dog.

Billy Endean, secretary of the Exchange Club, said BBB would not be possible without volunteers and community support.

“This community is something special,” said Endean. “We’ve got so much going on this weekend and so many great causes to support. My favorite aspect of this is just being able to see so many people that I know that come downtown, hang out in fellowship, enjoy some time with each other, and it all supports a good cause, so to have the support from the community, from our sponsors that allow us to put this event on.”

In addition to dinner and a show, there was plenty of alcohol to serve the crowd. 18 lagers, IPAs, sours, ciders and other brew varieties were available. VIP ticket holders left the night with a 16oz pint glass to commemorate the event.

The Exchange Club of Greeneville will celebrate its 95th year in December. The club’s national goal is to end child abuse, according to Endean.

“So locally here, we have several different organizations that assist in different ways,” he said. “Probably the most known are going to be the Child Advocacy Center and CASA. The court-appointed specialists that help with those types of special cases in court. So we support those along with the Boys and Girls Club and a whole host of others, really on the prevention side.”

Endean said it is nice to have a fun night and reconnect with others after all the work the club does for the community.
