    Two elderly residents injured in Bristol, Va. house fire

    BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — The Bristol Virginia Fire Department responded to a house fire on Saturday with residents trapped inside, according to a social media post from the city’s Professional Firefighters Association.

    The post said that upon arrival, moderate smoke was coming from a single-story house in the 300 block of Heritage Drive, where two elderly residents were reportedly trapped indoors.

    Crews immediately began an aggressive search locating 2 elderly patients trapped and unable to make it out on their own due to patients being bedridden. Engine 3 rapidly removed the elderly victims and placed them in the care of BLSC. Crews remained on scene for a few hours completing fire attack and clean.

    The post said both residents were transported to area hospitals after being treated on scene by the Bristol Lifesaving Crew.
