“As a military police officer, [Clair] undertook traditional law enforcement work at Fort Sam Houston in Texas and then was transferred to Korea, where his work focused on black market investigations and drug suppression,” a release from the VACP said.

Clair returned to Fort Myer where his duties ranged from dog handler to presidential support missions. He was sent to Guantanamo Bay during Operation Enduring Freedom and was honorably discharged in 2005.

Clair then provided protective services as a private contractor for the U.S. State Department and the Department of Justice.

He has also worked with the Dumfries Police Department, the Prince William County Police Department and was appointed Quantico police chief in 2013.
