Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Bristol hiring over 700 new employees

BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) – The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Bristol is looking to hire 700-800 new employees to work at the facility, scheduled to open this year.

“We’re hiring for positions from servers, hostess, table game dealers, we have housekeeping front office, spa and pool attendants,” said Allie Evangelista President of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. “We will also be hiring for security and we will be opening Hard Rock live entertainment, so we need some on call team members.”

On Tuesday, the casino held a hiring event for these various positions and saw a large turn out. The parking lot was full and lines of people waited to be interviewed.

“At the end of the day, we’re really just looking for people in the community that want to join a great career that is financially rewarding, but also that you can have fun in a really fast pace atmosphere,” said Evangelista.

The current casino facility on site has over 700 employees, Evangelista told News Channel 11 that they plan to have around 1,400 employees in total by the time the new hotel opens.

“Positions are starting at $18 an hour for non-tip positions, which is significantly above the minimum wage,” said Evangelista. “We offer great benefits, medical, vision and dental. We also offer tuition reimbursement for team members that are with us, if they want to go back to school.”

One requirement needed to work at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Bristol is to have a Virginia lottery license.

“The good news is we will facilitate that process for you,” said Evangelista. “We actually pay for the $533 that it costs to get a license to make sure that anybody that gets an offer gets everything that they need.”

The new hotel facility is set to open sometime in November, but an official opening date has not yet been determined.
