JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Bucs return to William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium on Saturday for their first home game of the football season.

ETSU will face off against UVA Wise at 5:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online ahead of the game.

The Bucs go into the regional matchup 0-1 after a 38-10 loss to App State to start the season. The Cavaliers are untested so far with ETSU being their first game.

ETSU is in the midst of a non-conference streak of games with North Dakota State coming to Johnson City on Sept. 14 and the Bucs traveling to Elon the week after. Conference play starts Sept. 28 at The Citadel.

Saturday’s game will be a contest of two new coaches. The Tre Lamb era began last week against App State, and Gary Bass is looking for a UVA Wise victory in his debut as head coach of the Cavaliers.

Lamb and Bass found themselves head coaches after ETSU posted two back-to-back 3-8 seasons and UVA Wise finished 2-9 last season.

Fans can attend the Buc Walk starting at 3 p.m. Gates open at William B. Greene Stadium at 4 p.m. The first 2,500 fans who enter the stadium will be given “Together We Win” rally towels.

The game will be available to watch on ESPN+. The Buccaneer Sports Network will provide coverage on WXSM-AM 640 and 101.5 WQUT HD-2.
