JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – ETSU men’s soccer came out firing on Saturday against the Seahawks at Summers-Taylor Stadium. The Blue and Gold netted a pair of goals in its first three shots to take a quick lead.

However, UNC Wilmington rallied in the second half with their own pair of goals, ending the match in a 2-2 draw.

Just ten minutes in, Gabriel Ramos found Henrique Cruz for his second tally of the season to give the Johnson City squad a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, Ramos scored himself, pushing the advantage to 2-0.

The visitors held possession for much of the second half and finally broke through 53 minutes into the match. Ryan Lee found a streaking Osei Gyamfi in the middle of the pitch for the first goal.

In the 60th minute, Gyamfi fired in a low cross that connected with Josef Hefele to knot the game, 2-2.

The Seahawks out-shot the Bucs, 15-7, and took eleven corner kicks to the home team’s six.

Marc Kouadio made five saves for ETSU in the draw.

The Bucs (1-2-2) will start a long four-match road stretch on Wednesday when they visit High Point at 7 p.m.
