Baileyton kicks off 30th annual community celebration with “legends” theme

BAILEYTON, Tenn. (WJHL) – Baileyton hosted the first day of its 30th annual town celebration on Saturday. The community, three original Brady Bunch cast members and John Wayne’s grandson, Thomas, were all in Greene County for the fun.

This year’s “legends” theme inspired Dolly Parton, Dukes of Hazzard, Marvel, Elton John and Elvis impersonators to pay tribute to their favorite legends.

“It just brings the community together,” said Donna Bailey, Baileyton Celebration chair. “It brings a whole lot of entertainment by looking at a small town and people just really enjoying this kind of thing in this particular area.”

The Baileyton Celebration showcases a Cruise-On car show open to rods, classics, custom and muscle cars, motorcycles and rat rods. It also invites local food trucks, vendors and live music.

“We just want people come out and have a good time and there’s a lot of people you see every year, that’s the only time you see them,” said Bailey. “If they come out for the Baileyton Celebration.”

The celebration will conclude on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is hosted at Baileyton Elementary School. To learn more, visit its website .
