Holston Distributing Company celebrates 90 years of service

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Holston Distributing Company hosted an event on Saturday to celebrate 90 years of serving the community.

The company was started by Frank Rubin in 1934 and is now third-generation owned. It distributes popular brands, such as Anheuser Busch beer, Yingling and Sweetwater.

Mike Hubbard, the general manager of Holston Distributing, said Saturday’s celebration was primarily for the company’s employees.

“Really, the backbone is the employees,” said Hubbard. “And that’s what we’re here today, really just to celebrate the employees and the people that have been here for long periods of time. And because without them, we are nothing here at Holston.”

Hubbard said the company appreciates all who have supported it over the last 90 years.

“So, just to see all this come together has been phenomenal for me,” he said. “I just want to thank everybody for always supporting us, always standing behind us and letting us be a part of different organizations, different events. And, you know, just everybody always supports us. So, it’s been great.”
