Bucs looking to take advantage of a once in a generation game opportunity against Bisons

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The ETSU Buccaneer football team will attempt to shock the world on Saturday when it welcomes 2nd-ranked North Dakota State into William B. Greene Jr. Stadium.

The Bucs look at this opportunity as a once-in-a-generation game. North Dakota State is like the Alabama of the FCS with 17 national championships (9 as a member of the FCS) and it doesn’t matter they’ve had three new head coaches over the past several years.

Their history is scary but Bucs head coach Tre Lamb wants his team to understand they are not lining up against history this Saturday afternoon.

“We’re not going to be scared. We’re not really scared of a logo or a reputation. We’ve got to worry about us and do our job and have a team is ready to play. I think we’ll be ready to play. We had a very aggressive team meeting yesterday, lit them up pretty good because they think they’re good and we’re not right now and we think we win a game 61 nothing. We think we’ve done something and that’s not how we’re going to operate. As long as I’m the head coach, you see this, our measuring stick. We want to win a national championship on this campus. It can be done. It’s my goal. We’re not scared to talk about it, but we’re about to find out what it looks like, how far away we are,” Lamb said.

Kickoff Saturday at William B. Greene Jr Stadium is at 5:30.
