JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The third annual Highlands Horrorfest will return to Johnson City on Oct. 19.

The film festival will feature short works from filmmakers across the region. The top winner of the competition will win $1,000.

“As a lifelong horror fan, this seemed like the perfect way to strengthen our local film
community, promote the horror genre and provide a platform to showcase and help
introduce emerging artists from our region,” Jake VanHuss, assistant professor at ETSU
and event organizer, said in a news release.
