JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) –  Fresh off the first victory of the 2024 season, the East Tennessee State University football team will host No. 2 North Dakota State on Saturday.

Kickoff between the Bucs and Bison is set for 5:30 p.m. at Bank of Tennessee Field in William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium.

“The Bucs have continued a great job protecting the ball through their first two games,” ETSU Athletics stated in a news release. “ETSU has not turned the ball over once against Appalachian State and UVA Wise. The Bucs are one of just 14 teams in FCS football that have not turned the ball over so far in 2024.”

The Bucs enter the game 1-1 after dominating UVA Wise 61-0 during the first home game of the season.

The Bison are also 1-1 after clobbering Tennessee State 52-3 and narrowly losing to FBS opponent Colorado 31-26. North Dakota State is ranked only behind South Dakota State in the FCS Coaches Poll.

The last time the Bucs and Bison met was in 2021 in the FCS quarterfinals. North Dakota State beat the then-SOCON champions 27-3.
