Huff commits to Savage, ETSU men’s basketball

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (WJHL) – In 2023-24, Harlan County guard Maddox Huff helped the Black Bears to one of the program’s most successful seasons in recent memory.

The squad won its 13th region title and made an appearance in the state championship game.

Earlier this weekend, Huff announced his intention to play hoops for Brooks Savage at ETSU. The three-star guard chose the Bucs over UT-Martin, Lipscomb, Youngstown State and Eastern Kentucky.

“Growing up, it was always my main goal to go Division I,” he said. “It really speaks volumes to show what I can do and show that if I put my mind to it, work as hard as I can and keep my faith in Jesus, then anything can happen.”

Huff also starred in the 2023 Arby’s Classic in Bristol, Tennessee this past winter. The Black Bears finished fifth in a talented field, falling only to the eventual champions, Kell (Ga.).
