Prep Tuesday: Toppers claim regular season district title, THS locks up second seed

(WJHL) – High school volleyball squads in Northeast Tennessee took to the court on Tuesday night, as one group locked up a regular season conference championship.

With a straight-sets sweep over David Crockett (25-22, 25-13, 26-24), Science Hill secured the District 1-3A regular season crown at home. The Toppers improved to 9-0 in the district.

In Kingsport, the Tribe honored three seniors ahead of a matchup with Tennessee High. The Vikings scored ten straight points in the first set to rally for a 26-24 win. D-B took the next frame 23-25, before the visitors claimed the match, winning the final two sets 25-15, 25-22.

With the victory, Tennessee High claimed the second seed behind Science Hill in the upcoming district tournament.
