    Auntie Ruth’s celebrates one year in Johnson City with deals, prizes

    JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Auntie Ruth’s Donuts and Pretzels is celebrating one year at its Johnson City location by offering special deals and giveaways throughout the week.

    Auntie Ruth’s is a family-owned business “crafting massive, sourdough donuts and soft, buttery pretzels in East Tennessee,” according to its website . The Johnson City location, at 612 Lyle Street near ETSU’s campus, is popular among locals and college students.

    Arlin Stoltzfus, general manager of Auntie Ruth’s, told News Channel 11 what customers can expect until Saturday.

    • Wednesday and Thursday: 75% off drinks
    • Friday: $1 pastries
    • Saturday: Face painting, free hot chocolate and lemonade for kids
    • $400 worth of prizes will be given away, including free coffee for a year
    • Chance to win gift cards and other door prizes
    • Appearances from the Doughnut mascot

    Stoltzfus said the restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Auntie Ruth’s is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

    “The support has been incredible; it’s been really, really incredible,” said Stoltzfus. “We’re excited to keep doing more some of the things that we’ve just really, really enjoyed. The community interaction [has] been amazing to us, how many people, how many friendships we’ve created.”

    Wish they had better hours for working people during the week. They are closed when I go to work, and closed when I get off of work.
