Consumers in Smyth County are advised to bring their drinking water to a rolling boil for one minute before consumption.

The release said the notice will be in effect until further notice.

The county also asked everyone to stay indoors after dark while crews continue to work.

“This storm has stressed our county, but we will continue to provide services as best we can,” a news release from the county states. “Please stay safe and if safe, check on neighbors and family.”
