    Johnson County mayor declares State of Emergency

    JOHNSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Johnson County Mayor Larry Potter has declared a State of Emergency for all residents.

    According to a release from the mayor’s office, all residents are asked to stay off the roads unless emergency services instruct them to do otherwise.

    The release said all of Johnson County is without electricity and internet.

    Earlier Friday, the county announced that First Christian Church Life Center (401 West Main Street, Mountain City) has a shelter open for those seeking refuge.

    The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said Highway 421 in Trade and Highway 321 are flooded.
