GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL)- “Everything’s gone,” said Phil Taylor from his home on Holly Creek Road in the River Plantation development. “We should be safe being up this high.”

He, his wife, their daughter, and their grandson left when they were ordered to evacuate. The family returned this morning.

“It’s more like disbelief. I’ve never been through anything like this kind of damage before,” he shared,” said Taylor. “Everything, the couches, the clothes, desks, furniture, it’s gone.”

Several inches of mud and feet of water cover the floor.

“It was so violent it flipped over our washer in the washroom,” he said. “Every single room is like this. It has mud everywhere. It went up about two and a half feet on the walls.”

The family was working to remove everything salvageable from the house before clean-up could truly begin.
