    ETSU women’s soccer stumbles against Mercer, 2-0

    JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Lady Bucs dropped their first Southern Conference match on Sunday afternoon, 2-0, to the visiting Mercer Bears.

    The game, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, was moved back to Sunday at 1 p.m.

    Bucs score 21 fourth-quarter points to push past The Citadel, 34-17

    In the eighth minute of the match, the visitors’ Larkin Thomason buried a shot in the top portion of the goal to put the Bears in front, 1-0. Thomason scored the second and final goal of the game, as well, blasting a shot past a diving Ashton Blair in the 57th minute.

    Blair made six saves on the afternoon.

    ETSU generated 15 shots in the defeat, but were out-paced in shots on goal, 9-3.

    The Lady Bucs (2-5-2, 1-1-1 SoCon) return to action at Wofford on Thursday. The match is slated for 6 p.m.
