    Prep Tuesday: Lady Wolves win thriller; SHHS, D-B setup soccer rematch

    (WJHL) – While high school volleyball is nearing the postseason, local girl’s soccer squads began their district tournaments on Tuesday night.

    On the hardwood, David Crockett and West Ridge met at Daniel Boone High School, as the Jonesborough school continues to be used as a staging and relief area for victims of Hurricane Helene.

    This match went the distance, with West Ridge taking the deciding set for a 3-2 win.

    On the pitch, the District 1-3A girl’s soccer semifinals were held under the lights in Blountville.

    Second-seeded Dobyns-Bennett scored four early goals against No. 3 seed Daniel Boone, as they eased to a 5-0 victory. Top-seeded Science Hill got an early score from Brenna Overbay, before putting away the No. 4 seed West Ridge in the second half, 4-0.

    The Lady Tribe and Toppers will meet for the district championship on Thursday at 7 p.m.
