GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is stabilizing the Nolichucky Dam and will remove the old powerhouse, according to a social media update.

TVA reported it has machinery onsite that is placing large rocks to stabilize the area. Because of floodwater damage, it will also remove the old powerhouse.

The update said Dam Safety engineers and construction teams are reviewing the area and will complete any necessary repairs to the dam.

TVA said the dam didn't fail. Said it several times during the aftermath of the flooding. Why then does it now need "stabilizing" if it didn't fail? More TVA lies. When water goes over and around a dam, that wasn't designed for water to top it, that dam has failed. The damage to the abutment where concrete meets rock/earth especially suffered damage. Just because the concrete still stands doesn't mean the dam hasn't failed.
