KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Ballad Health provided an update on elective surgeries, Greeneville Community Hospital services resuming and more on Friday.

Elective surgeries resumed Friday at Holston Valley Medical Center and Indian Path Community Hospital after being suspended on Wednesday and Thursday due to a waterline break in Kingsport .

The waterline break has been fixed and the boil water advisory for Kingsport was lifted Thursday .

Most services at Greeneville Community Hospital will resume on Saturday, with the exception of surgeries. According to a Friday evening update from Ballad, surgeries remain suspended until further notice; however, the following services will be available:

    • ER services: These remain ongoing, as they have since Sept. 28.
    • Inpatient services: Services will reopen under normal operations on Saturday, Oct. 5.
    • Surgical services: At this time, surgeries will remain suspended until further notice.
    • Obstetrical services: Emergency obstetric (OB) services are still being provided for patients in active labor or who have an emergent situation.
    • Outpatient services, including lab, sleep and radiology services: These will resume as of Monday, Oct. 7.
    • Greeneville Community Hospital entrances: As of Saturday, Oct. 5, the main entrance and ER entrance will both be open.

OB patients with scheduled induction at Greeneville Community Hospital are asked to contact their physician to receive care at another hospital.

Those with emergencies can receive care at the hospital’s emergency department.

Inpatient services at Sycamore Shoals Hospital resumed on Wednesday and surgeries resumed Thursday.

Residents from Laughlin Healthcare Center in Greeneville were successfully evacuated to Wexford House in Kingsport, Ballad Health stated in a news release.

The Laughlin Healthcare Center will remain closed until utilities/the Greenville water supply stabilizes.

All Ballad Health hospitals, except Unicoi County Hospital, are now open and receiving patients, Ballad said.

The entire Greeneville everything is subpar. The water department obviously is horrible. The electricity flickers every time the wind blows. The schools are a coin toss.

For me recent care there could not have been better. Have had bad treatment on the past but the last year or more when I was in there it was very good. I use to go to Med Center in JC but not good last there. It totally depends on the staff and they have been really good.
