BUTLER, Pa. (WKBN) – Former President Donald Trump is returning Saturday to the site of his attempted assassination with a rally in Butler County.

The event will be held at the same venue as his July 13 rally. At that rally, he was grazed by a bullet to his ear after a gunman shot into the crowd from a nearby building at the Butler Farm Show Grounds on Evans City Road.

Corey Comperatore, 50, of Sarver, was killed in the shooting. David Dutch, of New Kensington, and 74-year-old James Copenhaver, of Moon Township, were seriously injured.

During Saturday’s rally, Trump plans to thank law enforcement and first responders and honor Corey Comperatore, his family and others injured in the shooting.

On Friday, the Trump campaign released a list of special guests invited to attend the rally , which includes Comperatore’s family, those who were injured in the shooting and their families, Elon Musk, JD Vance, entertainer Lee Greenwood, first responders and federal state and local leaders.

The Butler shooting is one of two assassination attempts against Trump this cycle. Earlier this month, a suspect was charged with gun crimes in an incident on Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Fla., though the former president was unharmed.

The FBI said in late August that it wasn’t ready to draw conclusions about a motive in the Pennsylvania shooting, and a motive in the Florida incident also remains unclear . Trump and other Republicans have blasted Democratic rhetoric.

The Butler rally begins at 5 p.m., and doors open at 10 a.m. You can register for tickets online.
