TENNESSEE (WJHL) — The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has reopened SR 350 in Greene County and SR 133 in Johnson County to traffic after devastating flooding tore through the area.

According to TDOT, the state routes reopened one week after the flood, which destroyed five bridges and damaged critical infrastructure by hundreds of millions of dollars.

TDOT said SR 350, known in Greene County as Jones Bridge Road, was piled 30 feet high with debris. The release said chunks of that roadway were washed out, which exposed dirt and bent utility poles.

“In just 120 hours, 75 TDOT employees hauled dozens of truckloads of debris from Jones Bridge Road and repaired craters of asphalt displaced by the storm. Their commitment to reconnecting communities is unmatched as they continue to make progress day after day,” said Deputy Governor and TDOT Commissioner Butch Eley.

TDOT noted that a recap video of work on Jones Bridge Road in Greene County is available on YouTube , Facebook , Instagram and X .

State Route 133 was also reopened in Johnson County.

According to TDOT, 49 sections of state routes originally closed, and 30 of those have reopened. TDOT said its crews inspected all state-owned bridges over water. Crews assessed 35 of the 90 locally owned bridges requiring assessment, and 400 crew members continue working in the region to repair roadways and reconnect communities.

An up-to-date state-owned roadway closure map can be found on TDOT’s website. Updates
