(WJHL) – Countless volunteers and organizations have continued to aid locals in need after the devastating floods brought on by Hurricane Helene.

One of those people is Tennessee Vols offensive lineman, Dayne Davis.

Cloudland to continue football season on Friday

Following the loss to Arkansas on Saturday, the Bluff City native and former Sullivan East Patriots flew back to Knoxville with his teammates. From there, he hopped into a car and drove up to Carter County.

Davis donated about $4,500-worth of groceries and other items to Elizabethton and other hard-hit communities in the area.

“You know, we were able to drive up there yesterday,” he said. “Just driving up the mountain, looking off the side of the road, there’s a car wrapped around a tree, there’s a house that’s completely ripped off its platform.”

“There’s a lot of people up there that need help,” he continued. “It’s just very sad to see what’s come to the region. So, just trying to use my platform to help those people back home, you know. If there’s people out there who are able to donate, there’s people out there who really need it.”

In total, the Big Orange lineman has raised over $8,000 for flood victims in Northeast Tennessee.
