SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Oct. 8, 2024) – ETSU senior goalkeeper Marc Kouadio was named Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week as the league office announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday for games played from Oct. 1-7.

Kouadio, who totaled 20 saves in the two matches, led the Bucs to a 1-1-0 record last week. ETSU secured a 2-0 win over VMI in the SoCon opener on Sunday at Summers-Taylor Stadium, while suffering a 2-0 setback at Wake Forest last Tuesday.

This marks the first SoCon weekly honor of Kouadio’s career and the first by an ETSU player this season.

The Bucs are back in action on Saturday night when ETSU plays at Wofford. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
