    Jonesborough Storytellers Guild hosting ‘Tellabration!’ event

    JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Jonesborough Storytellers Guild announced on Wednesday it will join a global “Tellabration!” event in November.

    The “Tellabration!” event, trademarked by the National Storytelling Network, brings storytellers and story lovers together across the globe. The Jonesborough Storytellers Guild’s event will feature storytelling, community connections and door prizes.

    The following storytellers will be at the event:

    • Betty Ann Polaha
      • Named Outstanding Storyteller Performer at East Tennessee State University in 2018.
      • “Her passion for storytelling and her dedication to the craft make her a beloved figure in the Tri-Cities storytelling community, the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild said in a news release.
    • Ronnie Pepper
      • Accolades include the National Association of Black Storytellers Fellowship award in 2023.
      • Pepper has been sharing stories since his teenage years and has a background in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Leadership and Human Services.
    • Carolina Quiroga
      • Carolina has performed at the National Storytelling Festival and The Timpanogos Storytelling Festival.
      • Carolina created an acclaimed literary podcast, “Tres Cuentos,” where she delves into the soul of Latin American literature.

    The event will take place Nov. 23 from 2-4 p.m. a the McKinney Center (103 Franklin Avenue, Jonesborough).
