Morgan Wallen Foundation, Second Harvest donates 150,000+ pounds of food

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) – Country artist Morgan Wallen and his foundation, HELP AFTER HELENE, teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank and the community to donate food to Tennessee families affected by Hurricane Helene.
While in East Tennessee, Wallen, Second Harvest and the community filled six trucks with 143,423 pounds of donated food, according to Michael Torano, Second Harvest of East Tennessee’s Senior Manager of Engagement and Marketing.
In Middle Tennessee, Wallen, Second Harvest, and Wallen’s booking and management companies gathered another 16,380 pounds of food to be sent to affected families and areas.
According to Ebie McFarland with Essential Broadcast Media, the group packed 1,092 disaster relief kits at the Second Harvest locations in Nashville and Smyrna. Each box contained a can opener and six meals, for a total of 6,552 meals.
In addition to the hands-on work, the team also operates a Virtual Food Drive that has collected 100,000 meals. Donations can be made here .
