JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The East Tennessee State University Buccaneers are looking to rebound on Saturday after a close loss to Chattanooga.

The Bucs will host Samford at 3:30 p.m. at William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium.

ETSU is 3-3 so far in the 2024 football season after a last-minute 17-10 loss to the Chattanooga Mocs last week. The Chattanooga loss puts the Bucs at 1-1 in conference play.

The Samford Bulldogs travel to Johnson City as a 2-2 squad. The Bucs will be the second Southern Conference matchup for Samford; the Bulldogs beat VMI 27-3 in their last game.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+, and coverage before, during and after the game can be heard on the Buccaneer Sports Network, WXSM-AM 640 and 101.5 WQUT HD-2.

Four inductees to the ETSU Athletics Hall of Fame will be recognized on the field Saturday after the first quarter of play.

After playing Samford, the Bucs will go on the road for two weeks to face off against Mercer and Western Carolina.
