    ETSU rallies to take five-set thriller over The Citadel

    JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct 10, 2024) – East Tennessee State University volleyball rallied from a 2-1 deficit to knock off The Citadel in five sets (25-17, 21-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-12) on Thursday night.

    Senior outside hitter Amanda Lowe led the Bucs (10-6, 2-2 SoCon) with 12 kills and nine digs. Senior middle blocker Abbey Thomas and graduate setter Reese Rhodes each set career highs with ten blocks (one solo) and seven blocks, respectively. Sophomore libero Melanie Morris also reset her career high with 24 digs. Freshman outside hitter Makayla Bays had her second consecutive game with double-digit kills, tallying ten while hitting .400.


    Next, ETSU finishes the weekend against Wofford (11-5, 3-1 SoCon) at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 at Brooks Gymnasium ahead of volleyball alumna Megan Devine’s induction into the ETSU Hall of Fame at 7 p.m.
