    Host Daniel Boone shines in 52nd Trailblazer Invitational

    GRAY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Early Saturday morning, cross country runners from across the Southeast met at Daniel Boone High School for the latest edition of the longest-running meet in the state of Tennessee.

    The 52nd Trailblazer Invitational saw a handful of competitive races, and more podium finishes for host, Daniel Boone.

    Dylan Sampson has 1-yard TD run in OT to lift No. 8 Tennessee past Florida, 23-17

    The boy’s team won an overall title for a second-straight year with 77 points. Junior Fisher Battel claimed the top individual prize with a time of 16:28.2.

    On the girl’s side, Watauga (NC) freshman Cali Townsend blazed to victory with a time of 18:49.0. It was the sixth-fastest time ever recorded by a lady on the course. Watauga also took the girl’s team title with 48 points.
