BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — A new locally-owned LEGO business named Bristol Bricks is set to host its grand opening on Thursday in Bristol, Virginia.

According to a release, the store will be the only authorized LEGO dealer outside of the region’s chain stores, offering a variety of new, rare and popular LEGO sets and accessories. The release said the business will also accept gently used LEGOs for cash or store credit.

The business will officially open at 10 a.m. on Thursday at 256 Bristol Commons, neighboring the Legacy Theater. The 2,500-square-foot space includes a large retail area and a party/event zone available for reservations.

“We are excited to bring this store to Bristol,” said Bristol Bricks owner Todd Peak in the release. “We fell in love with building LEGO during the Covid pandemic. As we grew in our hobby, we drove three to four hours to find stores with different LEGO sets. As we did so, we met many other people with the same hobby and the same difficulty finding what they were looking for. We wanted to create a location that would offer a wide variety of new sets and used and vintage ones for people to purchase. We also want to create an environment that fosters community and encourages builders to come together and learn from one another.”

“Another service we will offer is the ability to trade in gently used LEGO for cash or credit toward new purchases,” Peak said. “While the variety of inventory is great, our biggest goal is to make shopping for LEGO a personal experience. We hope to make shopping at Bristol Bricks something people look forward to because they feel welcome and at home here. Our friendly and helpful staff will be our biggest difference.”

Along with new LEGO items, Bristol Bricks said it will acquire and sell used sets, vintage pieces, bulk bricks and collectible mini figurines.

According to the release, the business will also offer membership to a “Founders Club” for die-hard LEGO fans, which will include early invites, member-exclusive events, special discounts, first access to new releases and more.

Store hours will be Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and closed on Sundays. The release said reservations for parties and events are being accepted now.

More information about the business can be found on Bristol Bricks’ social media.
