WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Fall Branch man faces several charges after he allegedly threatened two people with a gun and tried to kidnap one.
Man wanted in connection to burglary, shooting in Greene County The Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) stated in a news release that Jonathan Taylor Cox, 28, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with the following:
- 2 counts of aggravated assault
- Attempted kidnapping
- Aggravated burglary
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- Theft of property over $10,000
- Identity theft
According to the WCSO, deputies were searching for a stolen truck on Wednesday when they received a call about an unwanted and armed guest at a home in the 600 block of Old Stage Road.
Deputies reportedly found the stolen truck in the driveway of the home when they arrived. Cox was in the truck with ammunition and a handgun, the release states.
Cox was taken into custody and reportedly claimed to own the truck.

The people in the home, which Cox had previously been trespassed from, told deputies that he entered through the home’s back door and started waving the gun around. Cox had reportedly found the gun in the stolen truck and began threatening the two victims.
The release states that Cox then tried to force one of the victims to leave with him.
Cox then went back to the truck, and the victims called 911.
Cox was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, and deputies learned he was a convicted felon. Due to being a felon, Cox was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
As of Thursday, Cox is being held without bond and is set to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
