BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — A new, locally-owned LEGO store has opened for business in Bristol, Virginia.

“Bristol Bricks,” located at 256 Bristol Commons, Bristol, Virginia, will offer new, rare and popular LEGO sets and accessories. According to a release, the store will be the only authorized LEGO dealer outside of the region’s chain stores.

Owner and manager Crystal Peak said she and her husband started building LEGO sets during the COVID pandemic.

“I know with my husband and myself, we were looking for something to do together during COVID without having to leave the house,” Peak said. “And LEGO is what we landed on and we just fell in love with it at the time. And I think so many people [just] feel that nostalgia with LEGO.”

After driving hours to different LEGO stores to find new builds, they decided to open one closer to home.

“We would drive to Charlotte, to the Lego Store,” Peak said. “We would look for used LEGO stores, and there was nothing around us, nothing closer than Knoxville at the time. So we just had the idea that one day we would retire and open our own LEGO store. As time went on, we kind of felt like now was the right time to do that.”

The store will also have opportunities for people to host build or birthday parties.

Store hours will be Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
