BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares will be in Bristol on Friday night to launch a new program during Virginia High’s homecoming game.

A news release from Miyares’ office states the program will raise awareness of the dangers of fentanyl and other drugs among young athletes.

Miyares will speak to players, meet fans and participate in the ceremonial coin toss. Former governor George Allen and Super Bowl champion Jay Novacek will accompany him.

Delegate Isreal O’Quinn and Bristol Mayor Becky Nave will also be at the game to support the launch of the Coaches vs. Overdoses program.
