Sheriff: TBI assists after man discovered dead inside garage in Greene County

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Greene County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD) Criminal Investigation Division responded after a deceased male was found at his residence on Wednesday, according to a release from the department.

According to the release, the GCSD Investigation Division and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation responded to a call on Hartman Lane after reports of a deceased male discovered in a detached garage.

The man has been identified as James W. Woods, 80. He was the property owner, the release said.

The body was sent to ETSU’s William L. Jenkins Forensic Center to determine a cause of death.
