HANCOCK, Mich. (WJMN) — Police in the City of Hancock said Thursday afternoon that a man had been found dead after a crash earlier that morning.

According to a release from Hancock Police Chief Tami Sleeman, officers with the department responded to what they called an “unknown incident” around 5:40 a.m. on Wright Street.

When they arrived, officers found a local 50-year-old man laying dead in the road after an apparent crash on his electric scooter.

Chief Sleeman said the investigation is still ongoing, but investigators with her department do not believe the crash to be suspicious in nature.

This is a developing story. Local 3 will update this article with any updates as we learn them.
