    Coast Guard rescues two after boat capsizes near Marquette Lighthouse

    MARQUETTE, Mich. (WJMN) — Two people were rescued after their boat capsized in Lake Superior, according to a spokesperson for the U.S. Coast Guard.

    It happened Sunday evening after officers at the USCG Station Marquette received a report of a capsized vessel offshore near the Marquette Lighthouse with people in the water.

    Officers launched their 45′ Response Boat, soon finding two people in the water.

    “Both of the individuals rescued were wearing life jackets, ensuring their safety until our crews arrival,” said the spokesperson.
