SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (WJMN) — A motorcycle rider was seriously hurt after a crash Sunday afternoon, according to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department.

The announcement from Chief Wesley Bierling came on Monday.

When first responders arrived, they found a crash between a motorcycle and truck had severely hurt the rider. The injured man was taken to MyMichigan Medical Center Sault before being transferred to MacLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey for his critical injuries, where he was later said to be in stable condition.

Officers at the scene discovered the crash happened when the northbound motorcycle collided with a southbound truck turning left into the Walmart parking lot.
