For the next three days, organizers will commemorate the legacy of the Freedom Riders from the summer of 1964. Attendees will be able to participate in workshops and panel discussions.

“These are people, who put their lives on the line not only for themselves and for their right to vote, but for all of us to have the right to vote today. And I think about their incredible legacy, how they have inspired generations to come to understand why it’s so important, how lucky we are in this country to have that right to vote, and our responsibility to carry it forward for future generations,” said Margaret Huang, Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) president and CEO.
