PEARL, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Pearl police announced two men were arrested in connection to the burglary of a city building, commercial building and other thefts.

On July 15, 2024, Pearl police responded to a city building near the landfill around 6:00 a.m. after receiving a call about a burglary. When officers arrived, they learned that several tools were stolen from the location.

While officers were at the scene, they received another call that a city contractor’s trailer was stolen nearby and that a vehicle was burglarized. Detectives were able to recover the stolen trailer, which had two stolen ATVs and one stolen UTV beside it.

During their investigation, police said they discovered the ATVs and UTV were stolen from Jackson Motor Sports. When they arrived at the business, investigators said they saw that the back fence to the compound was cut. Two more UTVs had been stolen and were located abandoned in a wooded area.

Police were able to review surveillance video and saw two suspects in a unique vehicle with out of state license plates during the early morning hours of the burglaries.

Pearl police stopped the vehicle during a safety checkpoint the morning after the burglary. They said the vehicle was occupied by Jeffery Lefevre, of Utah, and Billy Coram, of Arkansas. The two men were arrested for possession of narcotics and warrants out of the state of Arkansas.

According to investigators, Lefevre and Coram stated that they ingested narcotics and were transported to a Jackson hospital. Police said the two escaped from the hospital, and Lefevre was later arrested by Capitol police.

Police said Lefevre admitted to the crimes. Coram was arrested on August 8 by Jonesboro police in Arkansas. He is facing various felony charges in Arkansas and is pending extradition back to Mississippi.

In Pearl, Lefevre and Croman have been charged with six counts of grand larceny, one count of commercial burglary, one count of possession of burglar tools and one count of conspiracy.
