JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Officials with the Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MWFP) Foundation announced the expansion of its support to include the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR).

Going forward, they will do business as the Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, Parks, and Marine Foundation (MWFPM Foundation).

Officials said the foundation will now provide comprehensive support to the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) and MDMR. They said the partnership will allow the foundation to fund additional programs and initiatives that benefit wildlife conservation, natural resource management, and outdoor recreation from the Pine Belt to the Gulf Coast.

“By expanding our support to include the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, the MWFPM Foundation is now positioned to make an even greater impact across the entire state. Our mission has always been to help fund the preservation and enhancement of Mississippi’s natural resources, and this new partnership allows us to do so on a larger scale. We look forward to working closely with both MDWFP and MDMR to achieve our shared goals,” said John Taylor, MWFP Foundation Board Chair.
