JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – Two men were sentenced on child exploitation charges in Mississippi.

On August 5, a Harrison County judge sentenced Robert Christian McMorrow, of San Diego, California, to six years in prison without the possibility of parole. He was also sentenced to five years of supervised probation for possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

According to the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, McMorrow was temporarily stationed at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi when the crime occurred.

On July 23, a Jones County judge sentenced Scott Kevin Merrill, of Moselle, to 40 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), with 10 years to serve day-for-day without the possibility of parole. He was also sentenced to five years of supervised probation for Possession of CSAM.

Both men will be required to register as sex offenders upon their release from prison.

The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office said both men were arrested as a result of CyberTips reported to the office.
