Mega Millions jackpot reaches $582 million

JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The jackpot for the Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday, August 27 is now at an estimated $582 million.

No player matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball in the August 23 drawing, and Tuesday’s drawing will be the 24th drawing in the current jackpot. The jackpot was last hit for the June 4 drawing and worth $552 million, and the ticket was purchased in Illinois.

If a ticket matches all five white balls and the Mega Ball, the player would have the option of taking the $582 million in annual payments over 29 years or the $286.9 million in a single payment.

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday, August 28 is an estimated $54 million, and the jackpot for Lotto America is an estimated $7.79 million.

The Mississippi Match 5 jackpot for Tuesday is an estimated $238,000.

Mega Millions and Powerball drawings air live on Mississippi partner stations, including WJTV 12 News and WHLT.
